The name Hitomi might remind you of Japan’s most famous porn star (the one with the big, hypnotic tits), but this is a hentai website. You’ll find plenty of manga series inside. This perverted form of art explores quite a lot of fetishes and fantasies, and you’ll find plenty of them on this website. By the way, did I mention it’s free?
If you read Japanese, that’d be a big plus because a lot of these manga scans are the original Japanese version. I think that’s cool as a Japanese student, but if you can’t be bothered to learn Japanese and still dig manga, you’ll find a lot of English versions, too, as well as other languages. You can look up content by artists, series, characters, and tags. When it comes to artists, many of Japan’s finest are present here. There’s plenty of doujinshi stuff as well (self-published).
When it comes to reading these manga, the site gives you pretty nice options: you can choose full spread or a single page. You can also go full screen on either of these options. Then, you can fit the pages vertically or horizontally. There are a Next and a Previous button, but you can also skip pages by simply clicking on them. A lot of the content is uncensored, but a fair share of it is censored, which is annoying and frustrating, especially because the art is excellent. That doesn’t have anything to do with the site, though. Speaking of annoying things, the site has ads, but nothing an ad blocker can’t deal with.
The design could be better, but that’s personal taste. Besides, beggars can’t be choosers (it’s a free website). When you look content by “artists,” for example, you get a list of names, not screenshots of their work. That’s fine if you know the names of all the Japanese manga artists out there, but if you don’t, you’ll have to click on each individual name to come up with the screenshots of their work. If you want some good manga, and you want it for free, Hitomi.la is a pretty good option. Step inside and check it out — they won’t charge you for it!
